WHEREAS, in recognition of the general poor economic climate at the Federal, State and local
ievei that has impacted the County's financial condition, the Members of the Butte County Board of
Supervisors respectfully offer a voluntary and irrevocable waiver of a portion of the County-paid
employee share of their CaIPERS pension as specified in the attached waiver forms to assist in
addressing the financial difficulties that the County is facing;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the County of Butte hereby adopts a
policy allowing such waiver by the Members of the Butte County Board of Supervisors and directs that
the Department of Human Resources accept the attached Waiver Forms from the Members of the
Board of Supervisors who wish to waive a portion of their compensation/benefits paid by the County to
assist with the County's financial difficulties; and
BE !T FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the County Human Resources Department is
authorized to honor the signed and completed waiver forms and to make the necessary and appropriate
modifications to the Board Members' compensation/benefits to reflect such waivers.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors, State of California, on the 13`x'
day of September, 2011 by the following votes:

FOR MEMBERS OF BUTTE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE
VOLUNTARY AND IRREVOCABLE WAIVER OF COMPENSATIONIBENEFIT

In recognition of the general poor economic climate at the Federal, State and local Ievel
that has impacted the County's financial condition, I, Kim Yamaguchi, Supervisor
District S, on behalf of myself and my spouse, respectfully request a voluntary and
irrevocable waiver of the County's payment of a portion of my employee contribution to
CaIPERS as follows:
1. Effective August 6, 2011, I will pay on a pre-tax basis two percent {2%) of salary far
the employee share of my Ca1PERS pension and the County will pay the remaining five
percent (5%) of salary.
2. Effective the fist full pay period including January 1, 2012, I will pay on a pre-tax
basis four percent (~%} of salary for the employee share of my CaIPERS pension and the
County will pay the remaining three percent (3%} of salary.
3. Effective the first full pay period including January 1, 2013, I will pay on a pre-tax
basis five percent (5%} of salary for the employee share of my Ca1PERS pension and the
County will pay the remaining two percent (2%) of salary.
This voluntary and irrevocable waiver is effective for the period of August 6, 2011
through January 7, 2013. Nothing herein shall authorize a reduction of my salary rate for
any purpose, including retirement.
