RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF .fAN MICHL
UPON RETIREMENT FROM
BUTTE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, Jan Michl, Senior Social Worker of the Department of Employment and
Sacial Services (DESS), has announced her retirement as of October 7, 2011 and
WHEREAS, Jan began her career with the County of Butte on January 14, 1980 as an
Eligibility Worker(EW) I and successfully moved up the career ladder to EW ll and III, then to
Social Worker I, II, II{, and to her current responsible position as an Adults Protective Services
Senior Social Worker since 1999; and
WHEREAS, Jan pravided good leadership within the department and in the community
by encouraging and modeling expert cooperation and excellent customer service; and
WHEREAS, Jan provided training to new social workers, mandated reporting training in
the community, and participated on the Multidisciplinary Team for Adults, and
WHEREAS, Jan has devoted her career to assuring that children, families and seniors
in our community were served in a caring and professional manner and has taken great pride
in her job as a public servant ;and
WHEREAS, Jan has worked diligently for the past 31.9 years in the best interest of
Butte County and its citizens, earning the respect and confidence of her supervisors, her
peers, and many county, state and community partners; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board, on its own behalf and on
behalf of the .citizens of Butte County, extends its appreciation for your many years of
dedicated service.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this September
27tH 2011, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Wahl, Kirk, Yamaguchi and Chair Lambert
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
