WHEREAS, the Government Code, Section 25355 allows the Board of Supervisors to
delegate to any County officer or employee the power to "accept any gift, bequest, or devise
made to or in favor of the County;" and
WHEREAS, the Government Code, Section 25355 requires, upon delegation of such
authority, that the officer or employee f le a quarterly report with the Board of Supervisors that
describes the source and value of each gift valued in excess often-thousand dollars ($10,000.00);
and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors wishes to acknowledge those making donations to
the Library.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Butte, State of California that the Library Director is authorized to accept any gift, bequest, or
devise made to or in favor of the County Library system; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Library Director shall file a quarterly report
with the Board of Supervisors that describes the source and value of each gift valued in excess of
ten-thousand dollars {$10,000.00); and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Library Director shall send out a letter to each
donor acknowledging the donation on behalf of the County.

November, 2011 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Wahl, Kirk, Yamaguchi and Chair Lambert
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
