RESOLUTfON iN RECOGNITION OF CHERYL LEETH
UPON RETIREMENT FROM
BUTTE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, Cheryl Leeth, Program Manager of the Department of Employment and Social Services
(DESS), has announced her re#irement as of December 30, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Cheryl earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts Degree in
Psychology and Counseling; and
WHEREAS, Cheryl began her career with the County of Butte in April of 1987 as a Social Worker in the
Children's Services Program and in 1989, she was promoted to Social Worker Supervisor. In 2004, Cheryl
was promoted to Program Manager over the Employment Services program, and later transferred to the Adult
Services program; and
WHEREAS, As a Supervisor in Children's Services, Cheryl was instrumental in the development of the
Butte County Interagency Child Abuse Response Team which reduces the number of interviews a child abuse
victim must undergo as well as providing more effective criminal investigation and prosecution ofi child abuse
cases; and
WHEREAS, As a Social Worker, Supervisor and Program Manager, Cheryl dedicated herself to
providing excellent customer service to staff and the families served, and valued the role of educating and
empowering staff to provide the highest quality of work; and
WHEREAS, Cheryl has devoted her career to improving the lives of children, families, and seniors in
our community through her tireless focus on meeting their needs through her work; and
WHEREAS, Cheryl has worked diligently for the past 25 years in the best interest of Butte County and
its citizens, earning the respect and confidence of her DESS colleagues, employees, and many county, state
and community partners; and
WHEREAS, Cheryl is ready to take golf lessons and join her husband on the links.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE !T RESOLVED that the Board, on its own behalf and on behalf of the citizens
of Butte County, extends its appreciation for your many years of dedicated service.
