RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF DOUGLAS ARNOLD
UPON RETIREMENT FROM THE BUTTE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
WHEREAS, Douglas Arnold, Engineering Technician, Senior, for the Department of Public Works, announced his
retirement as of December 30, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Douglas began his career with the County of Butte in 1974, as a Junior Engineering Aide, advancing
within the Department to become an Engineering Technician, Senior, his present position, where he performed
numerous tasks for both Public Works and Development Services, and has served both as aVice-President and steward
for the Butte County Employees Association (BCEA); and
WHEREAS, Douglas also served his community of Biggs, California by serving on its planning commission for
eight years, and the City Council for six years; and
WHEREAS, Douglas worked as a Junior Engineering Aide, Engineering Aide I, Engineering Technician II,
Engineering Technician III, and Engineering Technician, Senior for many years; and
WHEREAS, Douglas has earned the respect of fellow employees, engineers, surveyors, contractors, and others
involved in Public Works activities in Butte County, and has diligently served the residents of the County of Butte for
thirty-seven years, with distinction and leadership;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board, on its awn behalf and on behalf of the residents of the
County of Butte, wish to express to Douglas Arnold sincere appreciation far his many years of unselfish dedication and
outstanding service rendered to the residents of the County of Butte, and further wish him well on his retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, this 13th day of
December, 2011, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Wahl, Kirk, Yamaguchi and Chair Lambert
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
