AIV INTERTIvI ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF TIIE COUNTY OF
i~UTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, A1Q "A-R" (AGRTCULTURAL-
RESIDENTIAL) D25TRTCT, AND ESTAi3LISHING REGULATIONS FOR
fiHE USE OF LAND AND TI3E CONSTRUCTION OF BUILDINGS.
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, under and pursuant to Ordinance No. 475, as amended,
and declaring an emergency D0E5 ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situate in the
County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is hereby
zoned as an "A-R" {Agricultural-Residential) District and such
area shall be subject to file restrictions and restricted uses and
regulations hereinafter specified and provided. Said area so
zoned being located in the unincorporated area of Butte County, and
more particularly described as follocas:
The Northeast quarter of Section 24, T22N P.3E,
NDB&f4, Paradise, California. '
SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR AN "A-R" DISTRICT`:
The following regulations shall apply in an "A-R" District:
2.1 USES PERMITTED:
a. Single-family dwelling, not including tents or
trailers.
b. Accessory buildings pertinent to the permitted uses.
c. Agricultural uses.
d. Livestock, subject to requirements as follows:
1) Minimum lot area to be devoted to residential use
shall be not less than eight thousand one hundred
twenty-five (8,125) square feet.
2) Exclusive of ti7e area devoted to the residential .
use, the following lot or parcel area shall be
required for each animal raised or kept on the
premises:
a) For each horse or head of cattle over one (l)
year of age--eight thousand one hundred
twenty-five (8,125) square feet.
1: b) For each head of swine over ten (10) weeks
2, of age--eight thousand one hundred twenty-
3 five {8,125} square feet.
!4" c) For each head of sheep or goats---two thousand
6 (2,000) square feet..
6 2.2 THE FOLLOWING U51~S SUBJECT TO SECURING A USE PERP4IT
7 IN EACFI CASE:
8 a. Duplex dwellings and multiple-family dwellings.
9 b. Golf courses, country clubs, if permitted, would
10 permit accessory uses such as driving range, pro shop,
11 cocktail bar, restaurant.
12 c. Public and quasi-public uses including churches,
13 firehouses, hospitals, parks and playgrounds, schools
14 and public utility buildings.
15 d. Commercial poultry farming and livestock farming.
16 e. Veterinary clinics, outpatient.
17 f. Nurseries and plant gardens.
18 2.3 LOT AREA REQUIRED:
19 Minimum required area of a lot per dwelling unit shall
2p be not less than eight thousand one hundred twenty-five (8,125)
21, square feet.
22 2.4 LOT WIDTH REQUIRED:
,23 Minimum lot width-shall not be less than sixty-five (65)

gg 2.5 FRONfi YARD REQUIRED:
28 Minimum front yard shall bs fifty (50) feet from the center-
27 line of the road, except where the road is classified by the County
'28 as a Federal Aid Secondary Road, the minimum building setbac?c re-
2g quirement shall be fifty-five (55} feet from the centerline of road.
30 2.6 SIDE YARD REQUIREMENT:
3~. Minimum side yard siaall not be less than five (5) feet.

SECTION 3. In compliance with the provisions of said
Zoning Enabling Ordinance, the same is hereby amended by adding
this Ordinance in full.
SECTION 4. The penalties for the violation of the zoning
hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in the
Zoning Enabling Ordinance. In compliance with the provisions of
the Zoning Enabling Ordinance, this Ordinance shall from and after
its effective date become a supplement to and part of the Zoning
'Enabling Ordinance.
SECTION 5. This emergency ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen
(15) days after its passage shall be published once with the names
of all members voting for and against the same in the Paradise
Post a newspaper in general circulation
in the County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of 3utte, State of California, on the 27th day of
October 1970, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors I3owsden, Maxon, McKillop, Reynolds, and
Chairman Dunaway
NOES: None
