AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMIT ON CERTAIN ROAD`?
WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
(Vehicle Code Sections 22357 & 22358)
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California
does ordain as follows:
Section 1: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an
engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highway hereinafter described
comes within the provisions of Section 22355 of the Vehicle Code of the State of
California, in that a prima facie speed limit of sixty-five (b5)miles per hour
is more than is reasonable and safe on said highway, and determines and declares
a prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highway as follows:
That a prima facie speed limit of forty-five (~~.5) miles per
hour is hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT ~.5 MILES
signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County
highway, to wit:
EAST ,AVENUE FROM STATE HIGHWAY 32 TO ESPLANADE
Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
:are hereby repealed.
Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and terms
'of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable, and the in-
validity, if any, of any feature, part, provisions, section, or term thereof,
shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same inoperative
or invalid. '
Section: The Department of Public Works of the Couh~yof Butte is
hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie sp
limit established herein, within thirty (30) days of the adoption hereaf.
This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its passage, and
before the expiration of fifteen days after its passage, it shall be published
with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once in a local
newspaper published in.the County of Butte, State of California.
