AN ORDINANCE 20NING A PORTION OF TT-TE COUNTY OF BUTTE,
STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AN "A-R" ( AGRICULTURAL--RESIDENTIAL)
DISTRICTr AND ESTABLI5HING REGULATIONS FOR THE USE .OF
LAND AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF BUILDINGS.
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, under and pursuant to Ordinance No. 475, of said County,
being the Zoning Enabling Ordinance, as amended, DOES ORDAIN as
follows:
SECTION 1. The hereinbelow described area situate in the
County of 13utte, State of California, shall be and it is hereby
zoned as an "A-R" (Agricultural-Residential) District and such area
shall be subject to the restrictions and restricted uses and regu-
lations hereinafter specified and provided. Said area so zoned
being located in the unincorporated area of Butte County known
as Paradise, California, more particularly described as follows:
Being a portion of Section 24, T22N R3E, MDB&M,
described as the southeast quarter of the northeast
quarter, and the east half of the northeast quarter
of the northeast quarter, said Section 24.
SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR AN "A--R" DISTRICT:
The following regulations shall apply in an "A-R" District:
2.1 USES PERMITTED:
a. Single-family dwellings,not including tents or
trailers.
b. Accessory buildings pertinent to the permitted uses.
c. Agricultural uses.
d. Livestock, subject to requirements as follows:
1. Minimum lot area to be devoted to residential
use shall be not less than eight thousand

one hundred twenty-five (8,125) square feet.
2. Exclusive of the area devoted to the residential
use, the following lat or parcel areas shall be
required for each animal raised or kept on the
premises:
(a) For each horse or head of cattle over one
(l) year of age--eight thousand one hundred
'~ twenty--five (8,125) square feet.
(b) For each head of swine over ten (10) weeks
of age--eight thousand one hundred twenty-
five (8,125) square feet.
(c) For each head of sheep or goats--two
thousand (2,000} square feet.
2.2 THE FOLLOWING USES SUBJECT TO SECURING A USE PERMIT
IN EACH CASE:
a. `Duplex dwellings and multiple-family dwellings.
b. Golf courses, country clubs, if permitted, would
permit accessory uses such as driving range, pro
shop, cocktail bar, restaurant.
c. Public and quasi-public uses including churches,
firehouses, hospitals, parks and playgrounds,
schools and public utility buildings.
d. Commercial poultry farming and livestock farming.
e. veterinary clinics, outpatient..
f. Nurseries and plant gardens.

1 2.3 LOT' AREA REQUIRED:
2'' Minimum. required area of a lot per dwelling unit shall be

g' Minimum .lot width shall not be less than sixty-five (65)

g' 2.5 FRONT YARD REQUIRED:
g Minimum front yard shall be fifty (50) feet from the center
lp; line of the road, except where the road is classified by the County
11, as a Federal Aid Secondary Road, the minimum building setback re-
12' quirement shall be fifty-five (55) feet from the centerline of road
13', 2.6 SIDE YARD REQUIREMENT:
14 Minimum side yard shall not be less than five (5) feet.
15! SECTION 3. In compliance with the provisions of a
lg Zoning Enabling Ordinance, the same is hereby amended by adding

lg SECTION 4. The penalties for the violation of the zoning
19 hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in the
20', Zoning Enabling Ordinance. In compliance with the provisions of
21: the Zoning Enabling Ordinance, this Ordinance shall from and after
2S its effective date become a supplement to and part of the Zoning
2g Enabling Ordinance.
24 SECTION 5. Phis Ordinance shall be and it is hereby de-
26 Glared to be in full force and effect from and after thirty (30)
26 days after the date of its passage; and before the expiration of

fifteen (15) days after the date of its passage this Ordinance
shall be published once with the names of the members of the Board
voting for and against it in the Paradise Post
a newspaper in general circulation
in the County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
'County of Butte, State of California, on the 26th day of
January 1971, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Madigan, Maxon, McKillop, and Chairman
Reynolds
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
