BUTTE COUNTY ORDINANCE N0. ~~46
A_N ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIl~'IIT ON CERTAIN ROAD
WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
(Vehicle Code Sections 22357 & 2235$)
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California
does ordain as follows:
Section 1: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an
engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highway hereinafter described
comes within the provisions of Section 22355' of the Vehicle Code of the State of
California, in that a prima facie speed limit of sixty-fives (65) miles per hour
is more than is reasonable and safe on said highway, and determines and declare;
a prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highway as follows:
That a prima. facie speed limit of thirty-five (35) miles peg
hour is hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LTMTT ~5 MIL7
signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinai~sr-described County
highway, .;~o wit:
BLOCK ROAD FROM GRIDLEY-COLUSA HIGHWAY TO LIBH-'R.TY ROAD
Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and term;
of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable, and the in-
validity, if any, of any feature, part, provision, section, or term thereof,
sha11 not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same inoperative
or invalid.
Section 4: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is
hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie sp
limit established herein, within thirty (30) days of the adoption hereof,
This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its passage, and
before the expiration of fifteen days after its passage, it shall be published
with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once in a local
newspaper published in the County of Butte, State ~nf California.
