ORDTNANCE N0. 1149
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 618
The Board of Supervisors of the County of .Butte DO
ORDAIN as follows:
1. That Section 2-61 of the Butte County Code be
',amended to read as follows:
I
Sec. 2-61. BIDDING - W~IEN AND BY WfiOM REQUIRED.
It is the policy of the county that wherever possible
purchases of anal contracts for supplies, materials, and
equipment shall be based on competitive responsible bids.
If the amount of any purchase of machinery or equipment
exceeds an estimated two thousand dollars or if bids
are solicited for supplies on an annual basis, the bids
may be opened at the time and place as directed in the
notice to bidders, however, it shall be awarded by the
board of supervisors. For the purchase of machinery,
equipment, other personal property, or services costing
less than two thousand dollars or for materials and supplies
not purchased on the basis of an annual contract, the
purchasing agent shall endeavor to obtain bids or quotations
to the extent, feasible before signing any purchase order
or contract.
20 That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30)
days of the date of its adoption, and before the expiration
of fifteen (15) days after its passage, it shall be published
with the names of the members voting for and against same, once
in a newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of
California.
