AN ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE,
STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AN "A-R" (AGRICULTURAL-RESIDENTIAL)
DISTRICT, AND ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS FOR THE USE OF
LAND AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF BUILDINGS.
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, under and pursuant to Ordinance No. X75, of said County,
being the Zoning Enabling Ordinance, as amended, DOES ORDAIN as

SECTION 1. The hereinbelow described area situate in the
County of Butte, State of California, sha11 be and it is hereby
zoned as an "A-R" {Agricultural-•Residential) District and such
area shall be subject to the restrictions and restricted uses and
regulations hereinafter specified and provided. Said area so zoned
being located near Chico, California, more particularly described
I as follows
The easterly 2590 ft. of Parcel 2, "Priesing Lands",
per map recorded in Map Book 7 on Page 23, in the
Office of the Recorder, County of Butte, State of
California;
Also, the southerly 1053.98 ft. of the easterly
7856.02 ft. of Parcel 3 of said "Priesing Lands;
Containing 116 acres, more or less.
SECTION 2, REGULATIONS FOR AN "A-R" DISTRICT:
The following regulations shall apply in an "A-R" District:.
2.1 USES PERMITTED:
a. Single-family dwellings, not including tents or
trailers.
b. Accessory buildings pertinent to the permitted uses.
c. Agricultural uses.
d. Livestock, subject to requirements as follows:

3 one hundred twenty-five (8,125) square feet.
~ 2, Exclusive of the area devoted to the residential
5` use, the following lot ar parcel areas shall be
~ required for each animal raised or kept on the
7 premises:
g (a} For each horse or head of cattle over one
9` (1) year of age--eight thousand one hundred
I0 twenty--five (8,125) square feet.
11~ (b} For each head of swine over ten (10) weeks
12 of age--eight thousand one hundred twenty--
13 five (8,125) square feet.
14 {c) For each head of sheep or goats--two
15 thousand {2, 0(30) square feet.
Z6 2.2 THE FOLLOWING USES SUBJECT TO SECURING A USE PERMIT
~~ IN EACH CASE;
lg a. Duplex dwellings and multiple-family dwellings.
1g b. Golf courses, country clubs, if permitted, would
2Q permit accessory uses such as driving range, pro
21 shop, cocktail bar, restaurant.
22 c. Public and quasi--public uses including churches,
23 firehouses, hospitals, parks and playgrounds.
24 schools and public utility buildings.
2S d. Commercial poultry farming and livestock farming.
26 e. Veterinary clinics, outpatient...

f. Nurseries and plant gardens.
2.3 LOT AREA REQUIRED:
Minimum required area of a lot per dwelling unit shall be
not less than eight thousand one hundred twenty-five ($,125}
square feet.
2.4 LOT WIDTH REQUIRED:
Minimum lot width shall not be less than sixty--five (65)
(feet.
2.5 FRONT YARD REQUIRED
Minimum front yard shall be fifty {50} feet from the
centerline of the road, except where the road is classified by the
County as a Federal Aid Secondary Road, the minimum building set-
back requirement shall be fifty-five (55) feet from the centerline
of road.
2.6 SIDE YARD REQUIREMENT:
Minimum side yard shall not be less than five (5) feet.
SECTION 3. In compliance with the provisions of the
Zoning Enabling Ordinance, the same is hereby amended by adding
this Ordinance in full.
SECTION 4. The penalties for the violation of the zoning
hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in the
Zoning Enabling Ordinance. In compliance with the provisions of
the Zoning Enabling Ordinance, this Ordinance shall from and after
its effective date become a supplement to and part of the Zoning
Enabling Ordinance.
SECTION 5, This Ordinance shall be and it is hereby de-
clared to be in full force and effect_.from and after thirty {30)

days after the date of its passage; and before the expiration of
fifteen (l5) days after the date of its passage this Ordinance
shall be published once with the names of the members of the Board
voting for and against it in the Chico Enterprise-Record
a newspaper in general circulati~
in the County of Butte, State of California.

County of Butte, State of California, on the 9th day of
March , 1971., by the following vote:
