ORDINANCE N0. 1165
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA,
PROHIBITING USE OF COUNTY HIGHWAYS BY COMMERCIAL VEHICLES
EXCEEDING A GROSS WEIGHT OF 14,000 LBS.
(Vehicle Code Section 35707)
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, do ordain as follows:
SECTION l: In accord with Vehicle Code Section 35707,
commercial vehicles exceeding a gross weight of 14,000 lbs. are
hereby prohibited from using the following County highways, to
wit:
Almond Avenue - between Canyon Drive and Hillcrest Avenue.
Riverview Drive - between Hillcrest Avenue and Olive Highwaye
SECTION 2: That appropriate signs shall be erected
indicating the highways affected by this ordinance, it being
determined that such signing will best serve to give notice of
this ordinance.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately
and before the expiration of fif teen (15) days after its passage,
it shall be published once with the names of the members voting
for and against the same once in a local newspaper published in
the County of Butte, State of California. This urgency ordinance
passed pursuant to the authority of Government Code Section
25123 {d) and is passed for the immediate preservation of the publ
peace, health, and safty in that the road covered herein is being
destroyed by vehicles exceeding in gross weight of 14,000 pounds,
that the road cannot sustain vehicles of said weight and that if

vehicles of said weight are not prohibited from said road the
public safty will be endangered because of probable accidents with
resulting personal injury,
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California, at the regular meeting
thereof on the 4th day of May , 1971, by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Gilman, Madigan Maxon, McKillop, and
Chairman Reyir3olds
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
