BUTTE COUNTY ORDINANCE N0. 117d
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMIT ON CERTAIN ROAD
WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
(Vehicle Code Sections 22357 & 2235$)
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California
does ordain as follows:
Section 1: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an
engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highway hereinafter described
comes within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State of
California, in that a prima facie speed limit of sixty-five (65) m~7es ger hour
is more than is reasonable and safe on said highway, and determines and d;clares
a prima facie speed limit on such. Butte County highway as follows:
That a prima facie speed limit of twenty-five (25) miles per
hour i.s hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LTMTT 2 MIL
signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter described County
highway, to wit:
OAK PARK AVENUE FROM CHICO CITY LIMITS TO L~00 FEET WEST OF LA PLACITA
WAY
Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and term;
of this ordinance are hereby deiared independent and severable, and the in-
validity, if any, o£ any feature, part, provision, section, or texm thereof,
shall not affect the remair~$er of this ordinance, nor render the same inoperative
or invalid.
Section ~.: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is
hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie speed
limit established herein, within thirty (30) days of the adoption hereof.
This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its passage, and
before the expiration of fifteen days after its passage, it shall be published
with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once in a local
newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
