AN INTERIM ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF THE COUNTY
OF BUTTE AN "A-3" (AGRICULTURAL) DISTRICT, PURSUANT
TO ORDINANCE N0. 475, AS AMENDED.

2' The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
3 California, under and pursuant to Ordinance No. 475, as amended,
4' and declaring an emergency, DOES ORDAIN as follows:
8 SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situate in the
6 County of Butte, State of California, sha]1 be and it is hereby
71 zoned as an "A-3" (Agricultural) District, and such area shall be
8 subject to the restrictions and restricted uses and regulations
9' hereinafter specified and provided. Said area so zoned being lo-
10 Gated in the unincorporated area of Butte County, California,
I1' more particularly described as follows:
12 All of Sections 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29, 32, 33 and 34,
T21N R3E, MDB&M.

SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR AN "A-3" DISTRICT:

The following regulations shall apply in an "A-3" District:

2.1 USES PERMITTED:

a. Single-family dwellings.

b. General farming, horticulture, commercial livestock,

poultry production, warehousing and storage.
19
c. Accessory buildings and uses pertinent to the permit-
20
ted uses, including agricultural processing plants.

d. Housing facilities (including mobile homes} to accom-
22
modate only agricultural employees and their families
23
employed by the owner or operator of the premises;
24
and provided further that such housing facility shall

be considered accessory to the main building and shall
26
conform to the provision pertaining to required yard
and open space for dwellings.
"EXHIBiT A"
1 e. Mobile homes to house one family when such mobile
2 home is the only housing facility located on the
3 premises, provided the following conditions are con-
4' formed to:
5 1. The floor area within the mobile home shall not
6 be less than five hundred (500) square feet.
7 2. The parcel of land conforms to Section 2.3 (mini-
8 mum lot area of 5 acres), or is a smaller parcel
9' of land lawfully treater prior to the enactment
10 of this Ordinance, subject to written approval by
11 the Director of Planning
12' 2;2 THE FOLLOWING USES 5UBJECT TO SECURING A USE PERMIT
13' IN EACH CASE:
J.4 a. Golf courses and country clubs.
15 b. Public or quasi-public uses including churches, fire
16 houses, hospitals and clinics, parks and playgrounds,
17 schools, public utility buildings and professional
18 buildings.
19 2.3 MINIMUM LOT AREA REQUIRED: Minimum lot area shall
20 not be less than five ('5) acres.
21 2.4 FRONT YARD REQUIRED: Minimum front yard shall be
22 fifty (50] feet from the centerline of the road, except where the
23 road is classified by the County as~ a Federal Aid Secondary Road,
24' and the minimum building setback requirement shall be fifty-five
25 (55} feet from the centerline of said road.
2S 2.5 SIDE YARD REQUIRED: Minimum side yard shall not be
less than five (5) feet.

SECTION 3. All uses of land not specifically authorized
and permitted under Section 2 are prohibited within the district.
SECTION 4. The penalties for the violation of the zoning
hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in Section
15 of Ordinance No. 475. in compliance with the provisions of
the Zoning Enabling Ordinance, this ordinance shall from and
after its effective date became a supplement to and part of the
Zoning Enabling Ordinance.
SECTION 5. This urgency ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen
(15) days after its passage shall be published once with the names
of all members voting for and against the same in the Chico
__Fn tarnrisP_R. ord ~, a newspaper in general circulation
in the County of Butte, State of California. The facts constitutinc
the urgency an which this ordinance is based are:
1. The existing "A-2" Zoning permits uses which may be
incompatible with the development of the subject area
in a manner inconsistent with the location of Butte
Junior College in said area.
Z. The Planning Commission will soon be considering
possible rezoning of all,or parts of,the subject area
to zoning districts compatible with the development
of a junior college site.
3. This urgency ordinance is necessary to preserve the
public health, safety, and welfare in the subject area
until said rezoning studies are completed and acted upo
