WHEREAS, in 19fi1, an informal group of Planning Directors from across the state of California recognized a
need and benefit to share information and professional development, and came together in 1962 to formally establish the
California County Planning Directors Association (CCPDA); and
WHEREAS, in association with, and as an Affiliate Member of, the California State Association of Counties
{CSAC), the CCPDA has actively participated in the legislative process in an effort to encourage the development and
passage of legislation which supports sound planning principles and practices, the efficient implementation of state
regulations, and fosters greater local control over land use decisions; and
WHEREAS, over the years Butte County staff has actively participated in the CCPDA's activities and has gained
invaluable assistance and professional development thereby strengthening our county's planning projects and programs;
and
WHEREAS, Director of Development Services Tim Snellings is currently serving as First Vice President of
CCPDA and will serve as President of the Association for 2012-2013.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT BE RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors takes great pleasure in
honoring the California County Planning Directors Association on the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary and wishes it
many more years as a leading organization in the advancement of high quality, comprehensive planning through
professional and educational activities related to county government.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors on this 24th day of January, 2012, by the following
vote:
