ORDINANCE N0. 1205
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 1095 OF THE
COUNTY OF BUTTE KNOWN AS THE '!SALARY ORDINANCE"
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, DO ORDAIN, as follows:
Section 1. Section 48 B of Ordinance No. 1095 of the County
of Butte is hereby amended by adding thereto the following:

MEDI-CAL ELIGIBILITY SECTION

Section 2. This ordinance is passed as, an urgency matter for
the preservation of the public peace, health and safety in that
as a result of the passage of AB 949 of 1971 medi-cal eligibility
must be determined by the County Welfare Department, including all
of those individuals not presently on welfare. The effective date
of said AB 949 is October 1, 1971, failure to set up a medi=.cal
eligibility section will impair the eligibility of large numbers of
citizens of this county from seeking medical assistance. Therefore
', it is mandatory for the health and safety of this large number of
',citizens that this ordinance become effective immediately upon
passaged Before the expiration of fifteen days after the passage

it shall be published in a newspaper published in the County of
Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Butte this 19th day of October, 1971, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Gilman, Madigan, Maxon, McKillop, and
Chairman Reynolds .
