HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-064WHEREAS, the Department of Behavioral Health is currently operating clinics to provide behavioral health
services to the community and is receiving payments for said services; and
WHEREAS, California Government Code Section 29320 et. seq. provides for the establishment of a Change
(Imprest Cash) Fund in amounts to be determined and approved by the Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, both the Director of Behavioral Health and the Auditor Controller believe that establishing this
fund would; 1) be beneficial to the efficient operation of Behavioral Health clinics, and 2) would allow for better
cash handling practices and procedures, therefore mutually support the request for the establishment of a change
fund; and
WHEREAS, Board of Supervisor adoption is required to ensure compliance with California Government
Code Section 29320 et. seq. and certified copies of this resolution shall be transmitted to the County Auditor and
the County Treasurer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, hereby authorizes the approval of the Imprest Cash Fund due the following;
I . Establishment of a change fund for the Behavioral Health Department has become necessary for the
efficiency of the Department's day-to-day operation.
2. The amount of the Behavioral Health Department Change Fund shall be in the amount of $1,000, to be
divided amongst ten clinic/office locations at $100 each.
This fund is established in accordance with Sections 29320 et. seq. of the Government Code of the State
of California, and certified copies of this resolution shall be transmitted to the County Auditor and the
County Treasurer.
4. The Risk Manager is instructed pursuant to Section 29323 of the California Government Code to amend
by endorsement the blanket fidelity bond of the County to be conditioned in addition to its other
provisions, upon the faithful administration of the change fund and upon the willingness and ability of the
principal for whom such fund has been established to account far and pay over the fund upon demand of
the Board of Supervisors at any time.
5. The Auditor of the County of Butte is hereby authorized and directed to draw a check in the sum of One
Thousand Dollars ($1,000) in favor of the Behavioral Health Departrnent, for deposit into the Behavioral
Health Department -Change Fund and to adjust the County records accordingly.

b. The Behavioral Health Director or hislher designee will account for the Behavioral Health Department -
Change Fund in accordance with Government Code Section 29390 et. seq. and shall periodically verify
and provide accountings of that fund to the Auditor and the Board of Supervisors when requested.
