RESOLUTION ADOPTING A
GENERAL ANNEXATION POLICY STATEMENT
WHEREAS, recently there has been much discussion around annexation, primarily in Oroville and
Chico; and
WHEREAS, in order to guide present and future annexation discussions with cities and the Local Area
Formation Commission (LAFCo) it would be useful for the County to have a general annexation policy
statement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE lT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte adopts the
following general annexation policy statement:
"Butte County supports annexation of residential urban areas contiguous to or surrounded by
incorporated cities or towns. Such annexations should be subject to assurances that the
Counts fiscal position is protected."
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte on June 12,
2012, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Wahl, Kirk, Yamaguchi and Chair Lambert
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
