HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-087TO PROCLAIM AUGUST 2012 AS "CHILD SUPPORT AWARENESS MONTH" Resolution No. 12-087 WHEREAS, children are our mast precious resource and become healthy, productive, and well-adjusted adults through the support and nurturing oftheir parents; and WHEREAS, The Mission of the Butte County Department of Child Support Services is "CSS and Parents working together for Children"; and WHEREAS, Butte County's child support program provides an important opportunity for parents to be a positive force in the lives of their children; and WHEREAS, there are over 12,094 cases in Butte County alone in which the services of the Butte County Department of Child Support Services are required, orders have been established in 11,314 cases, paternity has been established for 10,157 children and parents have paid over 1Z.7 million dollars toward the support of their children during the current federal fiscal year; and WHEREAS, Butte County is strongly committed to seeking ways to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of its child support program by implementing innovative partnerships, programs and systems; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND PROCLAIMED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte does hereby recognize the month of August, 2012 as "Child Support Awareness Month" and commends parents who regularly pay their child support and the Department of Child Support Services for their steadfast commitment to improving the quality of life far Butte County's children. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of Butte, State of California, this 31st day of July, 2012 by a unanimous vote of all members present.
