TOURNAMENT FUNDRAISER TO SUPPORT THE BUTTE COUNTY LIBRARY SUMMER READING PROGRAM
WHEREAS, approximately 2,000 children participate in the Butte County Library Summer Reading Program
each year; and
WHEREAS, the Chico News & Review is deeply interested in encouraging reading among Butte County youth;
and
WHEREAS, on June 18, 201.2 the Chico News & Review hosted the 2nd Annual Links for Literacy golf
tournament at Tuscan Ridge Golf Course with proceeds dedicated to the purchase of new children's books for all six
branches of the Butte County Library; and,
WHEREAS, the Links for Literacy golf tournament has raised a combined total of $10,20Q- in years 2011 and
2012 to support the Summer Reading Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby recognize
Chico News & Review as a generous supporter of the Butte County Library Summer Reading Program.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, this 31St
day of July, 2012, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Wahl, Kirk, Yamaguchi and Chair Lambert
NOES: None
NOT VOTING: None
