AN INTERIM ORDINANCE ZONIfdG A PORTION OF THE COUNTY
OF BUTTE AN'"R-1" (SINGLE-FRMILY RESIDENTIAL) DISTRICT,
PURSUANT TO ORDINANCE N0. 475, AS AMENDED.

The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, under and pursuant to Ordinance No. 475, as amended,
and declaring an emergency, DOES ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situate in the
County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is hereby
zoned as an "R-1" (Single-Family Residential) District, for a
period of 90 days, and such area sha17 be subject to the re-
strictions and restricted uses and regulations hereinafter
specified and provided. Said area so zoned being located in the
unincorporated area of butte County known as Paradise, California,
more particularly described as follows:
Lot 1 through Lot 12 of"Friendly l~foods Subdivision",
per map recorded in Flap Book 25 on pages 22 and 23,
in the office of the Recorder, County of Butte, State
of California.
5ECTi0N 2. The following regulations shall apply in an
"R-1" (Single-Family Residential) District:
2.1 USES PERMITTED
a• Single-family dwellings, not including tents or
trailers.
b. Accessory buildings pertinent to the permitted uses.
c. Household pets (but not including livestock, poultry
or poisonous reptiles},
2.2 LOT AREA: Minimum required area of a lot per dwel-
ling unit shall be no less than eight thousand one
hundred twenty-five (8,125) square feet.
1' 2.3 LflT tdIDTH: Minimum lot width sha11 not be less than
2 sixty-five (65} feet.
3 2.4 FRONT YARD: Minimum front yard sha71 be fifty (50}
4 feet from the centerline of the road, except where
5 the road is classified by the County as a Federal Aid
6', Secondary Road the minimum building setback require-
7 ments shall be fifty-five (55) feet from the center-
8 line of said road.
9 2.5 SIDE YARDS: Minimum side yard shall not be less than
10 five (5) feet.
lI' 2.6 The following uses subject to securing a use permit
12 in each case:
13 a. Golf courses and country clubs.
14 b. Public and quasi-public uses including churches,
15 firehouses, hospitals, parks, playgrounds, schools
16 and public utility buildings.
17 SECTION 3. All uses of land within the district not
lg specifically authorized and permitted in Section 2 are prohibited.
19 SECTIDN 4. The penalties for the violation of .the zoning
20 hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in Section
21; 15 of Ordinance No. 475. In compliance with the provisions of the
22' Zoning Enabling Ordinance, this Ordinance shall from and after its
23' effective date become a supplement to and part of the Zoning
24' Enabling Ordinance.
25 SECTION 5. This urgency ordinance shall take effect
26 immediately upon its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen

l (15) days after its passage shall be published once with the names
2' of al] members voting for and against the same in the
~ Paradise Post a newspaper in general circulation
4 in the County of Butte, State of California. The facts constitu-
5 ting the urgency on which this ordinance is based are:
6 1. This urgency ordinance is necessary to preserve the
7 public health, safety and welfare in the subject area until said
8 rezoning to "R-1" is decided.
9 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
10 County of Butte, State of California, on the 9th day of
11 November 1971, by the following vote:
