BUTTE COUNTY ORDINANCE N0,12zG
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMIT ON CERTAIN ROAD
WITHIN THE COUNTY OR BUTTES STATE OF CALTFORNTA
(Vehicle Code Sections 22357 & 22358)
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,
does ordain as follows:
Section 1: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an
engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highway hereinafter described
comes within the provisions of Section 22358', of the Vehicle Oode of the State of
California, in that a prima facie speed limit of sixty-five (65) miles per hour
is more than is reasonable and safe on said ''highway, and determines and declares
a prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highway as follows:
That a prima facie speed limit of THIRTY-FIVE (35) MILES PER HOUR IS
hereby determined, declared and established '',and that SPEED LIMIT 35 MILES
signs be placed at appropriate locations on ',the hereinafter-described county
highway, to wit:
18TH STREET from GRAND AVENUE to 100 feet south of BIGGS AVENUE
Section 2: A11 ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed,
Section 3: The several features, parCS, provisions, sections and terms
of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable, and the in-
validity, if any, of any feature, part, provisions, section, or term thereof,
shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same i~opera-
five or invalid.
Section 4: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is
hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
speed limit established herein, within thirty (30) days of the adoption hereof,
This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its passage, and before
the expiration of fifteen days after its paslsage, it shall be published
with the names of the members voting for and agains# the same, once in a local
newspaper published in the County of Butte,
