ORDINANCE AMENDING SALARY ORDINANCE
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte DO ORDAIN
as follows:
Section 1, Section 49 of Ordinance 1217 is hereby amended
by adding thereto the following:
Notwithstanding any provisions of this ordinance to the
contrary, bi-weekly salaries shall be determined by multiplying
the monthly salary rates set forth in Section 2 of this ordinance
times l2 and dividing the product by 26o For the purpose of sett
pay periods throughout the year, beginning January 1, 1972 each
bi-weekly pay period will commence on Saturday at 12:01 a.m, and
will end at 12:00 midnight on the second Friday following. Leach
14 day bi-weekly period will encompass l0 assigned compensated
days including holidays for regular employees. Regular employees
performing less than full time services during any bi-weekly pay
period -shall be compensated on a prorata basis, the ratio being
the percentage of time workediD the aforesaid bi-weekly periodo
Extra help employees shall be paid on a hourly basis for hours
actually worked. Said hourly rate shall be computed by dividing
the bi-weekly rate for the assigned classification by the product
of the daily assigned hours multiplied by 100
Section 2. This ordinance is not to change the procedure in
effect as of the date of adoption of this ordinance, but rather
to formalize the said practice and procedure by ordinance.
Section 3. Tfis ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days
after the date of its adoption, and before the expiration of
fifteen (15) days after its passage, it shall be published in a

newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte this 8th day of February 1972 by the
following vote:
