AN IP2TERIM ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF THE COUNTY
OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORidIA, AN "RT-I" (P~9INI!'~lUP9
DENSITY RESIDEP~TIAL-TRAILERS DISTRICT, AND ESTABLISHING
REGULATIONS FOR T~iE USE OF LAND At~~D THE CONSTRUCTIOfd O.F.,:
BUILDINGS.
The Baard of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
;alifornia, under and pursuant to Ordinance No. 475, as amended,
and declaring an emergency DOES ORDAIN as follo4rs:
SECTIOPJ 1. The hereinbelow described area, s ituated in the
County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is hereby
zoned as an "RT-1" {Minimum Density Residential-Trailer} District,
and such area shall be subject to the restrictions and restricted
uses and regulations hereinafter sepcified and provided, said area
Being located in the unincorporated area of Gutte County, near
Jrovill~e, California, and particularly described as follows:

Beginning at the point designated as AC-651 on the
Easterly line of the parcel shown in that certain Record
of Survey recorded February 9, 1970, in Boofc 33 of t~iaps,
at page 72, Butte County Official Records; thence
Southerly along said Easterly line to the point designa-
ted as ORO-131 on said Record of Survey; thence leaving
said Easterly line 589°14'01."4d, 373.85 ft. to the Test
line of the Pdorthwest quarter of the above said Section
7; thence SO°45`59"E, along said line 775.39 ft. to the
Jest quarter corner of said Section 7; thence Sl°01',04"E,
along the West line of the Southwest quarter of said
Section 7, for 199.23 ft. to the southerly line of the
above said Record of Survey; thence N71°iO'28"4i, along
said line, 89.75 ft.; thence leaving said line, ~~18°46'45"E,
129.36 ft.; thence N26°45'58"l~1,637.32 ft.; thence N17°
27`09"W, 182.94 ft.; thence S85°3&'33"W, 260.00 ft. to
the Easterly line of that certain parcel of land described
as Parcel One {Ridge Road} in the Grant of Easements to
the State of California, recorded 5epternber 2, 19x0,
under serial number 99350, Butte County Official Records;
thence along said Easterly line, Northerly along the arc

of a non-tangent 950.00 ft. radius curve (radial line
to said curve at this point bears S85°38'33"4J}, concave
to the East, thru a central angel of 22°26`20", for
372.05 ft.; thence (Northerly along the arc of a tangent
2850.00 ft. radius curve, concave to the tiJest, thru a
central angle of 23°35'45", for 1173.70 ft.; thence
leaving said Easterly line, N81°17`52"E, 311.50 ft.;
thence N73°44'23"E, 100.00 ft.; thence N38°18'26"E,
279.09 ft.; thence (V22°53'26"E, 97.69 ft.; thence
S74°15'34"E, 269.09 ft.; thence 566°47'38"E, 228.40 ft.
to the point of beginning. Containing 46.57 acres, more
or less.
SECTION 2. The following regulations sha11 apply in an
"RT-1" (Minimum Density Residential-Trailer) district:
2.1 USES PERMITTED:
a. Single-family dwellings.
b. Mobile Names to house ane family, when such mobile
home is the only housing facility located on the pre-
mises, provided the following cor~ditians are conformed
to:
I. The floor area within the mobile home shall not
be less than 500 square feet.
2. A11 sanitary facilities shall conform to State
Statutes and regulations and to local requirements
of the Health Department; and
3. All electrical installations steall conform to
State Statutes and regulations.
c. Accessory buildings pertinent to the permitted uses.
d. Household pets, but not including livestock, poultry
ar poisonous reptiles.
2.2 ~.OT AREA REQUIRED: Minimum lot area of a lot per
dwelling unit or a mobile home unit shall be na less than eight

thousand, one hundred and twenty-five (8,125) square feet, excepting
where public sewage disposal service is provided, a minimum of six
thousand, five hundred (6,500} square feet may be allowed for inside
lots with a minimum of seven thousand, five hundred (7,500} square
feet for corner Lots.
2.3 LOT t~fIDTH REQUIRED: Minimum lot width shall not be
less than sixty-five (65} feet.
2.4 FRONT YARD REQUIRED: Minimum front yard shall be
fifty (50} feet from the centerline of the road, except where the
road is classified by the County as a Federal Aid Secondary Road
the minimum building setback requirement shall be fifty-five (55}
feet from the centerline of said road.
2.5 SIDE YARD REQUIREMENT: Minimum side yard shall not
be less than five (5) feet.
2.6 THE FOLL04~JING USES SUBJECT TO SECURING A USE Pt=KNIT
IN EACH CASE:
a. Golf courses and country clubs.
b. Public and quasi-public uses including churches, fire-
houses, hospitals, parks and playgrounds, schools and
public utility buildings.
SECTION 3. All uses of land within the District not
specifically authorized and permitted in Section 2, are prahibitted.
SECTION 4. In compliance with the provisions of said
Zoning Enabling Ordinance, the same is hereby amended by adding
this Ordinance in full.

SECTION 5. The penalties for the violation of the zoning
hereby i mposed Sri thi n the district shat 1 be as provided i n the
Zoning Enabling Ordinance. In compliance avith the provisions of
the Zoning Enabling Ordinance, the Ordinance shall from and after
its effective date become a supplement to and part of the zoning
Enabling Ordinance.
SECTION 6. For the immediate preservation of the public
peace, health and safety of the area hereinabove described, and
the residents and inhabitants thereof, it is necessary that this
ordinance take effect immediately, A declaration of the facts
constituting the necessity therefore is as follows:
The adoption of such Interim Zoning Plan is necessary in
the public interest, to maintain the status quo in such district
pending the determination of the application for such permanent
detail zoning.
SECTION 5. This emergency ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen
(15~ days after its passage shall be published once 4vith the names
of a17 members of the Board of Supervisors voting for and against
the same in the Oroville ~~ercury Register, a newspaper in general
circulation in the County of Butte, State of California.

Caunty of Butte, State of California, on the 4th day of April, 1972,
