AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LINIIT 6N CERTAIN ROADS
WLTHLN THE COUNTX OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
(Vehicle Code Sections 22357 & 22358)
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California
does ordain as follows:
Section 1: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an
engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highways hereinafter described
come within the provisions of Section 22355 of the Vehicle Code of the State of
California, in that a prima facie speed limit of sixty-five (65} miles per hour
is more than is reasonable and safe on said highways and determines and declares
a prima facie speed limit on stxeh Butte County highways as follows:
A. That a prima. facie speed limit of twenty--five (25} miles per
hour is hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 25 MILES
signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County
highway, to wit:

B.. That a prima facie speed limit of thirty-five (35) miles per
hour is hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 35 MILES
signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County
highway, to wit:
T ~NTIETH STREET FROM GRAND AVENUE TO NELSON AVENUE
Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and terms
of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable, and the in-
vaa.idity, if any, of any feature, part, provisions, section, or term thereof,
shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same inoperative
~~or invalid.

Section 4: The Department of Public Works of the County o£ Butte is
hereb-y directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie speed
limit established herein, within thirty {30~ days of the adoption hereof.
This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its passage, and
before the expiration of fifteen days after its passage, it shall be published
with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once in a local
newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
'State of Cal~ornia, at the regular meeting thereof on the 29th day
of ,~~gust , 1972, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Douthit, Ladd, Madigan, Maxon and Chairman Gilmano
