BUTTE COUNTY ORDINANCE NO , ~' 2 ~ 4
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LTMTT ON CERTAIN ROADS
WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTL~ STATE OF CALIFORNIA
(Vehicle Code Sections 22357 & 22358}

does ordain as follows:
Section 1: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an
engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highways hereinafter described
come within the provisions of Section 22355 of the Vehicle Code of the State
of California, in that a prima facie speed limit of sixty-.five (65) miles per
hour is more than is reasonable and safe on said highways, and determines and
declares a prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highways as follows:
A. That a prima facie speed limit of thirty-five (35) miles pex hour
is hereby determined declared and estab~,ished and that SPEED LIMIT 35 MILES
signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County
highway, to wit:
COHASSET ROAD from two miles south of the southerly
end of VTL~S ROAD to 3000 feet north of Cohasset schools
B. That a prima facie speed limit of forty-five (~.5) miles per hour is
hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED 'LIMIT 45 MILLS
signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County
highway, to wit:
MONTE VISTA AVENUE from LINCOLN BOULEVARD to 0.54 mile east.
Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Section 3; The several features, parts, provisions, sections and terms
of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable, and the
invalidity, if any, of any feature, part, provisions, section, ox term thereof,
sha11 not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same inopera-
tive or invalid.

Sectioxz 4; The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is
hereby directed to ezect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
speed limit established herein., within thirty (30) days of the adoption thereof.
This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its passage, and
before the expiration of fifteen ~l5) days after its passage, it shall be pub-
fished with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once in
a Ioca1 newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, at the regular meeting thereof ozz the 3rd' day
