WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors approved General Services Department, PVMH Support Beam
Project 13-044 during the Fiscal Year 2012/2013 budget appropriation to replace the failed main structural beam within
the Paradise Veterans Memorial Hal! and complete associated repairs to the facility; and
WHEREAS, the structural component of the project is complete and the County project contains approximately
$45,000 in funds committed to the associated repairs, mainly isolated to the kitchen, above the beam; and
WHEREAS, the Paradise Veterans Memorial Hall Kitchen, despite heavy use, has not been renovated in past
years and suffers from deferred maintenance; and
WHEREAS, in an effort to coordinate both the repair and the necessary renovation work to ensure consistency
and high quality in the project, The Paradise Unit No. 259, American Legion Auxiliary, District No. 4, Paradise has made
available a $40,000 donation for the County to utilize in the renovation of the Paradise Veterans Memorial Hal! Kitchen
to the benefit of all.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE iT RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of Supervisors accepts the $40,000 in
donation from The Paradise Post 259, The American Legion, Department of California to facilitate the renovation of the
Paradise Veterans Memorial Hall Kitchen.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 29cn day of January, 2013, by the following
vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Wahl, Kirk, Lambert and Teeter
NOES: None
ABSENT; Nane
NOT VOTING: None
