RESOLUTION FOR EMPLOYER PAID MEMBER CONTRIBUTIONS (EPMC}
FOR 5UPERIOR COURT OF CALIFORNIA EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, prior to 2001, the Butte County Superior Court employees were employees of Butte County; and
WHEREAS, in 2001, the State passed the Trial Court Employment Protection and Governance Act, which
removed the Court employees from County Service and established the Court as the employer; and
WHEREAS, the Court is responsible for negotiating with the Court employees on mandatory subjects of
bargaining; and
WHEREAS, the Court employees remain under Butte County's contract with CaIPERS for retirement; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to CaIPERS regulations, CaIPERS requires that the Governing Board that holds the
contract with CaIPERS {Butte County} must adopt and transmit a resolution related to an employer's change in
the Employer Paid Member Contribution (EPMC}; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Board of Judges, Superior Court of California Resolution No. 2012004 (see
Attachment A), the governing body of the Superior Court of California, County of Butte has identified the
following conditions for the purpose of its election to pay EPMC pursuant to Government Cade Section 20691:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Resolution supersedes and replaces all other resolutions of
the Butte County Board of Supervisors pertaining to EPMC paid for Superior Court employees; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution is adopted on February 12, 2013 and effective June 22,
2013.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors, of the County of Butte, State of California, at a regular
meeting of said Board, held on the 12~' day of February, 2013, by the following vote:
