THE MUSEUM OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA ART
WHEREAS, the County is required to maintain 900 Esplanade but lacks sufficient funding for necessary
renovation work; and
WHEREAS, the County has actively sought to develop working relationships with others that can assist the
County in better utilizing 900 Esplanade; and
WHEREA5, the Museum of Northern California Art has developed a business plan with provisions to raise
funding far the in-fill renovation and on-going maintenance of a portion of 900 Esplanade; and
WHEREA5, the Museum of Northern California Art desires to enhance the life of Butte County citizens through
display of art and Veteran artifacts; and
WHEREAS, the Museum of Northern California Art desires to assist the County in better utilizing 900 Esplanade
without a negative impact to the neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, the proposed in-fill project qualifies as exempt from the Cali#ornia Environmental Quality Act [CEQA
Guidelines sections 15301 and 15332).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby executes a lease with
the Museum of Northern California Art far occupancy of 900 Esplanade in Chico.
