FOR CHICO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT STUDENTS IN MAY 2013
WHEREAS, children reading during the summer strengthens literacy and success in later life; and
WHEREAS, many students with late books or library fines are afraid to return to the library causing
potential users to be lost for a lifetime over a matter of a few dollars.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of Supervisors authorizes the Butte
County Library to waive fines for schoolchildren in Chico who return their books to their Chico Unified School
District school library during May 2013.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 23rd day of April, 2013 by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Wahl, Kirk, Lambert, Teeter and Chair Connelly
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
