Resolution Recognizing June 1fi, 201 as Beef for fathers' Day
Whereas, the Butte County Cattlewomen proclaim beef is a basic American food, rich in protein, B-
vitamins and other essential nutrients; and
Whereas, the beef industry is vital to California's food chain and contributes millions of dollars to our
economy. The sale of cattle and calves in Butte County totals more than ten million dollars annually; and
Whereas, Butte County's beef producers are committed to preserving, conserving and restoring the
county's bountiful natural resources like open space, grasslands, wetlands, clean air and wildlife habitat; and
Whereas, much of America's strength and vigor stems from the family-from values and principles
passed from one generation to the next. The family is the backbone of our country;
Whereas, Fathers' Day is traditionally a time to honor both the family and one of its guiding members -
DAD! It has also become a traditional day on which to recognize the beef industry for its contribution to
American Life.
Now, therefore be it resolved that the Butte County Board of Supervisors recognizes June 16, 2013 as
Beef for Fathers' Day and encourages citizens of our county, on this special day, to make beef their food of
choice.
