RESOLUTION PROHIBITING STOPPING, STANDING OR PARKING,
BOTH SIDES OF WEST RIO BONITO ROAD BETWEEN SECOND STREET AND MILKY WAY
DURING FORTH OF JULY CELEBRATIONS
WHEREAS, the City of Biggs has an annual 4t" of July celebration which includes a fireworks display attended by
many citizens: and
WHEREAS, in the past, many vehicles parked on the sides of West Rio Bonito to watch the fireworks display
caused access problems for emergency vehicles: and
WHEREAS, the City of Biggs has requested the County to restrict parking along West Ria Bonita Road between
Second Street and Milky Way; and
WHEREAS, West Rio Bonito Road is a County maintained roadway and the Butte County Board of Supervisors
has the authority to restrict parking as necessary far this 4`" of July celebration event.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors that:
1. In accordance with Section 14-46.5 of the Butte County Code, the Board finds it necessary to restrict
parking on West Rio Bonito Road between Second Street and Milky Way during the City of Biggs annual
Fourth of July celebrations.
2. Authorizes the Director of Public Works to work with the City of Biggs and organizers of the event to
establish reasonable limits on the hours of the restricted parking within the boundary presented.
3. Authorize the Director of Public Works to allow the City of Biggs or event organizers to place appropriate
temporary no parking signs along the areas of restricted parking.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 25t~' day of June, 2018 by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Wahl, Kirk, Lambert, Teeter and Chair Connelly
