OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE HONORING LYNNE PILLUS
WHEREAS, Lynne Pillus has served the County of Butte in several capacities for over twenty-five years; and
WHEREAS, Lynne Pillus began her career with the County of Butte in 1988 as an Office Assistant I in the Welfare
Department, and
WHEREAS, Lynne Pillus has served in several positions in that Department; and
WHEREAS, Lynne Pillus participated in a pilot program combining the Private Industry Council (PICA, Welfare and
the Employment Development Department into an Employment Center, where she worked as an Office Assistant ill for all
three agencies; and
WHEREAS, Lynne Pillus continued her County career moving to the Agriculture Department, Water Division in
March 1999; and
WHEREAS, through this position Lynne was instrumental in the development of the new Department of Water
and Resource Conservation which was approved by the Board of Supervisors on July 1, 1999; and
WHEREAS, in this capacity Lynne Pillus has served as an invaluable member of the Department through her
dedication and resolve; and
WHEREAS, Lynne Pillus has also served her community as a past member and president of the Oroville Chapter
of Kiwanis International; and
WHEREAS, Lynne Pillus was honored by her club as Kiwanian of the Year in 1999-2000; and
WHEREAS, Lynne Pillus has also been awarded several awards for the construction of beautiful art quilts; and
WHEREAS, in that capacity Lynne Pillus was featured in the November 2012 edition of American Quitter
Magazine for her unique art quilt technique; and
WHEREAS, Lynne Pillus has exhibited enthusiasm and character in all capacities of her life; and
WHEREAS, it is proper to recognize Lynne Pillus for her twenty-five years of public service in the County of Butte,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte hereby determine that Lynne
Pillus be recognized and honored for her dedication and service to the County of Butte and her community.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 27th day of August 2013 by the following
vote:
AYE5: Supervisors Wahl, Lambert, Teeter and Vice Chair Kirk
NOES: None
ABSENT: Chair Connelly
