HomeMy WebLinkAbout13-118,,, ~ = r~ _ i ~ -~~ . .~ ~ .. ~+ {- } Resolution Na. 13-118 RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF SHELTER OPERATfONS DURING THE 5WEDES FIRE BY THE AMERICAN RED CROSS OF NORTHEASTERN CALfFORNfA CHAPTER WHEREAS, The American Red Cross of Northeastern California Chapter serves Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Pfumas, Sierra, Siskiyau, Shasta, Sutter, Trinity, Tehama and Yuba Counties; and WHEREAS, The American Red Cross exists to provide corn passionate care to those in need; and WHEREAS, The Northeastern California Chapter was called upon to start shelter operations in response to evacuation orders issued during the Swedes Fire in the early morning hours of August 17, 2023; and WHEREAS, The American Red Cross Northeastern California Chapter staffed and operated a shelter 24 hours a day until all evacuation orders were lifted on the evening of August 19, 2013. NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVE©, the Butte County Board of Supervisors would like to recognize and thank the volunteers of the American Red Cross of Northeastern California Chapter for their service to the citizens of Butte County.
