RESOLUTION AMENDING THE MASTER FEE SCHEDULE FOR SERVICES PROVIDED
BY THE COUNTY OF BUTTE
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors established the Butte County Master Fee Schedule by
Resolution on March 24, 2009; and
WHEREAS, the County of Butte is authorized to adopt and implement fees for services; provided,
however, that such fees do not exceed the estimated reasonable cost of providing such services; and
WHEREAS, maintenance of a Master Fee Schedule serves the convenience of the County and all
persons affected by said charges; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was noticed and duly conducted to allow consideration of the proposed
fee adjustment prior to adoption of this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, on January 1, 2013, and as part of the 2011 Realignment, responsibility for Adoption
Services in Butte County was transferred from the California Department of Social Services to the Butte
County Department of Employment and Social Services; and
WHEREAS, California Family Code Section 8716 permits county adoption agencies to collect a fee of
$500 when a family petitions for the adoption of a child; and
WHEREAS, such a fee is not currently in effect in Butte County; and
WHEREAS, the fee may be reduced or waived by the Butte County Department of Employment and
Social Services based on state-provided guidelines; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors desires to implement the fee in order to provide greater cost
recovery for adoption services provided.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte adopts
the new fee as delineated in the attached Exhibit A and amends the Butte County Master Fee Schedule to
reflect the changes. Fee adjustments shall become effective November 8th, 2013.

AYES: Supervisors Kirk, Lambert, Teeter and Chair Connelly
NOES: Supervisor Wahl
