PURSUANT TO WELFARE AND INSTITUTIONS
CODE SECTION 17000.5
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors for the County of Butte has adopted a standard of aid for General
Assistance pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code Section 17000.5; and
WHEREAS, the need to reduce the month general assistance grant by forty dollars ($40) for medical
care in accordance with Welfare and Institutions Code Section 17000.5 has become unnecessary due to the
implementation of the Affordable Care Act
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1. That the County of Butte adopt as a standard of aid and care for General Assistance, effective January 1,
2014, the amounts as stated on Attachment A to this resolution;
2. That the amounts set forth in Attachment A reflect the standard of aid and care permitted by Welfare and
Institutions Code Section 17000.5 as adjusted heretofore by the monthly actuarial value of up to forty
dollars ($40) per month of medical care.
3. Nothing contained in this resolution is intended to affect the right of the County of Butte to implement in
any manner permissible by law or subject to discretion of the Board of Supervisors any change in law
effective after the date of this resolution which permits counties to further adjust or eliminate General
Assistance aid levels.
PASSED AND ADOPTED on the 10`h day of December 2013 by the Butte County Board of Supervisors by
the following votes:
AYES: Supervisors Wahl, Kirk, Lambert, Teeter and Chair Connelly
NAYS: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
