AN INTERIM ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF' THE COUNTY
OP' BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AN "A-SR" (AGRICUL-
TURAL-SUBURBAN-RESIDENTIAL) DISTRICT AND ESTABLISHING
REGULATIONS FOR THE USE OF LAND AI`?D CONSTRUCTION OF
BUILDINGS.
'The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California under and pursuant to Ordinance No. 475; as amended,
declaring arn'.emergency, DO ORDAIN, ~s follows:
SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situate in the

County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is hereby
zoned an "A-SR" (Agricultural-Suburban Residential) District, for
a period of 12p days, and such area shall be subject to the
restrictions and restricted uses and regulations hereinafter
specified and provided, and area so zoned being located near
Chico, California and particularly described as:
Beginning at a point in the intersection of Eaton
Road and Hicks Lane said point being the center of
Section 9, T22N RlE, MDB&M: thence north to the
northwest corner of the southwest quarter of the
northeast quarter said Section 9; thence east to the
northeast corner of the southwest quarter of the
northeast quarter, said Section 9; thence easterly
along Sycamore Creek to the northwest corner of Lot
1 of "sycamore Sub." per map of record inthe Office
of Butte County Recorder; in map book 32 on pages
23 and 24; thence south to the southwest corner of
Lot 1 of said "Sycamore Sub,", also being the north
right of way line of Eaton Road; thence west along
Eaton Road to the northwest corner of Lot 8 of
"Hobart Sub.", per map of record in the Office of
Butte County Recorder, in map book 4 on Page 24;
thence southeasterly along the west line of Lot 8
and Lot 7 of said "Iiobart Sub." to the south west
corner of said Lot 7; thence southwesterly parallel
with the south line of said Lot 7 to State Highway
99E; thence northwesterly along the easterly right
of way line of State Highway 99E to a line located
1320 feet northwesterly of and parallel to the
westerly prolongation of the south line of Lot 7
of said "Hobart Sub."; thence northeasterly along
said line 800 feat; thence northwesterly 295 feet
to Eaton Road; thence west along Eaton Road to the
point of beginning. Containing 180 acres, more or
less.

SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR AN AGRICULTURAL SUBURSAN-
RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT ("A-SR"):
The following regulations shall apply to an Agricultural Suburban-
Residential District ("A-SR")
2.1 USES PERMITTED:
a. Single-family dwellings, not including tents or
mobile homes.
b. Accessory buildings pertinent to the permitted uses,
2.2 AGRICULTURAL USES, EXCEPT LIVESTOCK SUBJECT TO THE
FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
a. For each horse or head of cattle over one (1) year o:
age ane half acre, 21, 780 sq. ft.
b. For each head of swine over ten (10) weeks of age,
one half acre, 21,780 sq. ft.
c. For each head of sheep or goats, one quarter acre,
10,890 sq. ft.
2.3 LOT AREA:
Minimum required area of lot per dwelling unit shall be
not less than 8,125 sq. ft.
2.4 LOT WIDTH:
Minimum lot width shall be not less than sixty-five feet.
2.5 FRONT YARD:
Minimum front yard shall be fifty {50) feet from the
centerline of the rcad except where the road is classified by the
County of Sutte as a Federal Aid Secondary Road, the minimum
building setback requirements shall be fifty-five (55) feet from

the centerline of said road.
2.6 SIDE YARD:
Minimum side yard shall be not less than five (5) feet.
SECTION 3. The following uses subject to securing a Use
Permit in each case:
a. Public and quasi-public uses, including churches.
b. Hospitals, parks and playgrounds, schools and public
utility buildings. .
SECTION 4. All uses of land within the district not
specifically authorized and permitted in Sections 2 and 3 are
prohibited.
SECTION 5. For the immediate preservation of the public
peace, health and safety of the area hereinabove described, and
the residents and inhabitants thereof, it is necessary that this
ordinance take effect immediately. A declaration of the facts
constituting the necessity therefore is as follows:
The adoption of such Interim Zoning Plan is necessary in
the public interest, to maintain the status quo in such district
pending the determination of the application for such permanent
detail zoning.
SECTION 6. This emergency ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen
(15) days after its passage shall be published once with the names
',of all members of the Board of Supervisors voting for and against
