1 2 3 4 5 6 8 s 10 I1 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 is 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 "~~dinance No, 1347 AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND PROVIDING FOR A SPECIAL COUNTY CHARTER ELECTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF SAID COUNTY THE PROPOSITION OF WHETHER OR NOT CERTAIN SPECIFIED AMENDMENTS OF THE CHARTER OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE SHOULD BE APPROVED; FIXING THE DATE OF SAID ELECTION AND THE MANNER OF HOLDING THE SAME AND THE PROCEDURE FOR VOTING FOR OR AGAINST SAID AMENDMENTS; PROVIDING FOR NOTICE OF SAID ELECTION; AND CONSOLIDATING SAID SPECIAL COUNTY CHARTER AMENDMENT ELECTION WITH THE SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON July 17, 1973 WITH THE SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD OR A T O~~RRIDE MEASURE AND A BOND MEASURE The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte9 State of California, DOES ORDAIN as follows: Section 1(a}a A special election is hereby called to be held throughout Butte County oxi July l7, 1973 ~~ for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of the County, the proposition of amending the Charter of the County of Butte in the following particulars: That Article l3 of the Butte County Charter be repealed o That Article 13 of the Butte County Charter be amended to read as follows: Article 13o The County of Butte shall establish and maintain a hospital, provided that the electors of Butte Count: pass a bond issue to provide funds fora county hospital in the amount of $~ 5,000300000 ~,^, at the special election called therefor on July l7 ~,, 1973, or at an subse ent bond election thereafter, and also that the electors pass a permissive override tax in the amount of $ _ .30 ~~ per $100 of assessed valuation which funds would be solely for the operation of the County Hospital, said override to extend for an indefinite period of time, at the special election called therefor on 1 2 ~3 4 5~ 8 7 8 9 30 I1 12 13 ~~ I4 I5 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 2g 28 July ~~~, 1973, or at a~ n~subseguent election thereafter, In the event either or both of the aforesaid bond and override measures fail to pass, then the County of-Butte shall not be required to establish and maintain a hospital, but rather this issue shall be at the discretion of the Board of Supervisorso Section 1{b)o At said special election said proposition shall be submitted to the qualified voters of the County in the form of the following county measures, to wit: PROPOSED COUNTY CHARTER AMENDMENTS Proposed by Board of Supervisors in Ordinance No, 1347 Repeals Article 13 of the Butte County Charter, YES NO ends Article 13 of the Butte County Chartero YES No Section 1(c), In the event that both of the aforesaid measures should pass, then that which amends, rather than repeals, Article 13 of the Butte County Charter shall prevail regardless of whether the measure which would repeal Article 13 should receive more affirmative votero Section 2(a)a This Board does hereby submit to the qualifi- ed electors of the County at the special county charter amend- ', meat election said county measures for the revision of the Charter of the County of Butte, and hereby designates and refers to said 2. ]. 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 I4 15 16 17 1$ 19 20 21 22 23 24 2S 28 measures in the form set forth in Section 1{b) hereinafter prescribed far use at the special county charter amendment election. Section 2{b ). The special county charter amendment election consolidated with the County band election and tax override for the County shall be held and conducted, and the votes thereat received and canvassed, and the results thereof made and the results thereof ascertained and determined as herein provided, and in all particulars not prescribed by this resolution and order said election shall be held as nearly as practicable in conformity with the election laws of the State of California and only qualified voters of the County may vote thereato Section 2(c ).
