AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMIT ON CERTAIN ROADS
WITHIN THE COUt~TTY 0~' BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,
does ordain as follows:
Section 1: Said Board finds and determines that upon. the basis of an
engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highways hereinafter describe.
came within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State o:
California, in that a prima facie speed limit of sixty-five (65} miles per hour
is more than is reasonable and safe oz~. said highways and determines and de-
dares a prima facie speed 1i;uit on such Butte County highways as follows:
A, That a prima facie speed limit of twenty-five (25) miles per
hour is hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEEA L]~IIT 25
MILES signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter_described
County highway, to wit:
CRANE AVENUE from OAKVALE AVENUE to west end
$IGGS EAST HIGHWAY from SEVENTH STREET to 0.2 miles east
B. That a prima facie speed limit of thirty-five (35) miles per hour
is hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEID LIMIT 35 MILES
signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described county
highway, to wit:
BIGGS EAST HIGHWAY from 0.2 miles east of SEVENTH AVENUE to
0.5 miles east of SEVENTH AVENUE
Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and terms
of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable, and the in-
validity, if any, of any feature, part, provisions, section, or term thereof,
shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same inopera-
five or invalid.

Section 4: zhe Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is
hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
speed limit established herein, within thirty (30) days of the adoption hereof.
1'~.is ordinance shall. take effect thirty days after its passage,and
before the expiration of fifteen days after its passage, it sha~.l be published
with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once in a local
newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPZED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, at the regular meeting thereof on the 1~'~hd.ay of
Ma.y 197, by the following vote:
