TO EXTEND AN INTERIM ,ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION. OF TI-~E
COUNTY OF BUTTE AN "A-3" (AGRICULTURA.L) DISTRICT,`
PURSUANT TO ORDINANCE NO. 475, AS AMENDED.
1 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
2 California, under and pursuant to Ordinance No. 475, as amended
3 and declaring an emergency, DO ORDAIN as follows:
4 SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situate in the
fi County of Butte, States of California, shall be and it is hereby
8 zoned as an "A-3" (Agricultural) District, far a period of ~O.
7 days, and such area shall be subject to the restrictions and re-
8' stricted uses and regulations hereinafter specified and pravided.
9 Said area so zoned being located in the unincorporated area of '~
10 Butte County, .Cal ifornia, more particularly described as follows:
12 All of Sections 20, 2~!, 22, 27, 28, 29, 32, 33
and 34, T2~N, R3~, ~nB~&M.

13 SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR AN "A-3" DIST~2ICT: The
I4 following regulations shall apply in an "A-3" District:
15'. 2.1 USES PERMITTED:
16' a . Single-family dwellings .
17 b. General farming, horticulture, commercial livestocl~,
18' poultry production, warehousing and storage.
19 c . Accessory buildings and uses pertinent to the
20 permitted uses, including agricultural processing
2~. plants
22 c. housing facilities (including mobile homes) to
23 accommodate only agricultural. employees and their
24 families employed by the owner or operator of the
~ premises; and provided further that usch housing
26. facility shall be considered accessory to the main
1 bu~.lding and shall conform to the provision per-
2, taming to required yard and open space for dwellings
3 e. Mobile homes to house one family when such mobile
4 home is the only housing facility located on the
5 premises, provided the following conditions are con-
~ formed to.
~: 1. The floor area within the mobile home shall not
8` be less. than five hundred (~00) square feet.
~ 2, The parcel of land conforms to Section 2.3 (Mini-
10, mum lot area o£ 5 acres), or is a smaller parcel
Il'' of land lawfully created prior to the enactment
12 of the Ordinance, subject to written approval
13 - by the Director of Planning.

1B a. Golf Courses and country clubs.
17i b. Public or quasi-public uses including churches, fire
~'$ houses, hospitals and clinics, parks and playgrounds,
19 schools, public utility buildings and professional

2~' 2.3 I~TNIMUM LOT AREA REQUIRED; Minimum lot area shall
22 not be less than five (5) acres.

~ .~ FROivT YARD REQUIRED: Minimum front yard shall be
fifty (50) feet from the centerline- of the road~r: except where the

road is cla ssified by the County as a Federal Aid Secondary Road

and the min imum building setback requirement shall be fifty-five

2 2.5 SIDE YARD REQUIRED=' Minimum side yard shall a~ot be
~ less than five (5) feet.
4 SECTION 3. All uses of land not specifically authorized
5` and permitted under Section 2 are prohibited within the dis#:.r.ict.
6 SECTION 4. The ^enalties for the violation of the zoning
~ hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in Section:
$ 15 of Ordinance No. 4.75. In compliance with, the provisions of the
9 Zoning Enabling Ordinance, this ordinance shall from and after
YD', its effective date become a supplement to and part of the Zoning
II, Enabling Ordinance.
12, SECTION S. This urgency ordinance shall take effect
13: immediately upon xts passage, and before the expiration of fifteen
14 (15} days of ter its passage shall be published once with the names

16 Oroville Mercur , a newspaper in general circulation
~~ in the County of Butte, State of Californ~.a. The facts constitu-
~'$'~ ting the urgencyc:ron which this ordinance is based are:
l~` 1. Thd "A-2" Zoning permits uses which may be incompat-
20 ible with the development of the subject area in a
2~ manner inconsistent with the location of Butte
22 Community College in said area,
23 2. A zoning study is being conducted to consider possibl

rezoning of all, or parts, of the subject area to

zaning districts compatible with the development of

a community college site.

3. This urgency ordinance is necessary to preserve the
Public health, safety and welfare in the subject
area until said rezoning studies are completed and
acted upon .
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California,~on the 2nd day of
May , 1973, by the fallowing vote:
AYES: Supervisors Cameron, Gilman, Ladd and. Chairman McKillop
