AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED ZIMIT ON C1ER'T'AIV N ROADS
WITH]N THE COUNTY OE BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
(Vehicle bode Sections 22357 & 22358)
1 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,
2 ° does ordain as follows:
3 Section 1: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an
4 engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highway hereinafter described
5 comes within the provisions of Sectian 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State
6 of California, in that a prima facie speed limit of sixty-five (65) miles per
7 hour is more than is reasonable and safe on said highway and determines and
$' declares a prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highway as follows:
9 A. 'T'hat a prima- facie speed limit of thirty-five (35) miles per hour
1Q is hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LI~iTT 35 MILES
Z1 signs be placed at appropriate locations an the hereinafter-described county
I2 highwa}~ to wit
13' ESPLANADE from the Ghico City Limits to Eaton Raad
SHASTA AVENUE from Esplanade to Cussick Avenue
~4 LASSEN AVENUE from Esplanade to Cussick Avenue
lv Bo That a prima facie speed lizait of forty-five (45) miles per hour
I6 is hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 45 MILES
~7' signs be placed at apprapriate locations on the hereinafter--described county
~.8 ' highway to wit
19: ESPLANADE from Eaton Road to Garner Lane
20 Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
21 are hereby repealed.
22, Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and terms
23 of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable, and the in-
24 validity, if any, of any feature, part, provisions, section, or term thereof,
25 shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same inopera-
26 five or invalid.

Section 4: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is
hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
speed limit established herein, within thirty (30) days of the adoption hereof.
This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its passage, and
before the expiration of fifteen days after its passage, it shall be published
with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once in a local
newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California,
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, at the regular meeting thereof on the 1~1-th day of
