Re -issue Time Expired Checks
WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 29802(a), any warrant (aka check) issued by the
county is void if not presented to the county treasurer for payment within six months after its issuance date; and
WHEREAS, in the event a county- issued check is lost or destroyed, Government Code Section
29802(c), allows the governing body to adopt a resolution instructing the county auditor to draw a new warrant
in favor of the payee or assignee in the same amount as the original warrant; and
WHEREAS, in December 2013, Don and Betty Armitage reported that they had recently found an un-
cashed check in the amount of $161.64 issued by Butte County on January 27, 2009; and
WHEREAS, in December 2013, Michael and Carol Zink reported that they just located an un- cashed
check in the amount of $126.54 issued by Butte County on October 18, 2011; and
WHEREAS, both payees have requested the issuance of replacement checks; and
WHEREAS, the Auditor - Controller's office has verified that each check is time expired and that no
replacement checks have been issued;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Butte County Board of Supervisors does hereby
authorize the Auditor - Controller to draw new warrants to the above named payees in the same amount of the
original warrants.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors, of the County of Butte, State of California, at
a regular meeting of said Board, held on the 14th day of January, 2014 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Wahl, Kirk, Lambert, Teeter

NOT VOTING: None
