BUTTE COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. -•'~~
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMIT ON CERTAIN ROADS
WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE 0~' CALIk'ORNIA

The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,
does ordain as follows;
Section l: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an
engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highways hereinafter described
come within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State of
California, in that a prima facie speed limit of sixty--five (b5) miles per hour
is more than is reasanai~le and safe on said highways and determines and de-
Blares a prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highways as follows:
A. That a prima facie speed limit of twenty-five (25), miles per
hour is hexeby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 25
MILES signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described
County highway, to wit:
MARIPOSA AVENUE from EAST AVENUE to north end
Ba That a prima facie speed limit of thirty-five (35) miles per hour
is hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 3S MILES
signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described county
highway,;_to wit:
GARNER LANE from STATE HIGHWAY 99 to one mile north
Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and terms
of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and sevaxable, and the in-
validity, if any, of any feature, part, provisions, section, or term thereof,
shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor tender the same inopera-
tive or invalid.
1 Section G~: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is
2 hereby directed to erect appxopriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
3 speed limit established herein., within thirty (30) days of the adoption hereof.
4 This ordinance sha11 take effect thirty days after its passage, and
5 before the expiration of fifteen days after its passage, it shall be published
fi with the names of the merubers voting for and against the same, once in a local
'] newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of Califoxnia.
