Resolution X90. 14-061
RESOLUTION INCREASING THE CHANGE UN FOR THE BUTTE COUNTY CLERIC-RECORDER
WHEREAS,, the Butte County Board of Supervisors determined that, for the efficient operation of the
department of the County Clerk-Recorder, Change Funds are necessary; and
WHEREAS, California Government Code Section 29320 et. seq,. provides for the establishment and maintenance
of such Change Funds in amounts to be determined by the Board:of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, the daily volume of providing customers change has increased, and as such Resolution No. 11-051
adopted on May 24, 2011, approving and authorizing Change Funds in the cumulative amount of $550.00, is now
insufficient for the proper administration of the department; and
WHEREAS, both the County Clerk-Recorder and the ,auditor believe that an increase would (1) be beneficial to
the efficient operation of the County Clerk-Recorder department, and (2) allow for better cash handling practices and
procedures, and therefore mutually support the request for the increase.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, as
follows:
1. That there is determined to be a necessity for an increase of the Change Funds in the County Clerk-Recorder
department. The County Clerk-Flections 130.001 Change Fund will l increase from $50 to $100 and the
County Clerk-Recorder 470.0011 Change Fund will remain at$600.
2e. That certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to the County Auditor and County Treasurer,
3. That the Chief Administrative Officer is instructed pursuant to Section 29323 of the California Government
Code to amend' by endorsement the blanket fidelity bond of the County to be conditioned in addition to its
other provisions, upon the faithful administration of the Change Funds and upon the willingness and ability
of the principal for whore such funds have been established to account for and pay over the fuinds upon
demand of the Board of Supervisors at any time.
4, 'T'hat the Auditor of the County of Butte is hereby authorized and directed to draw a warrant in the sum of
50 in favor of the County Clerk-Recorder department of the County of Butte from the County General Fund,
for deposit into the County Clerk-Elections 130.001 Change Fund.
. That the County Clerk-Recorder or his/her designee will account for the Change Funds in accordance with
Government Code Section 29390 et. seq., and will periodically verify the amounts in the Funds when
requested by the Auditor-Controlleir or the Board of Supervisors.
PASSED AND ADOPTED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, on, the 1011
day
of June, 2014, by the following votes,:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Wahl, Kirk, Lambert and Chair Teeter
NOES: None
