Resolution No. 14-066
RESOLUTION IN APPRECIATION OF
RANDY B SNER
Whereas,this Board expresses its appreciation to Randy Basner for his 25 years of dedicated service to
Butte County; and
Whereas, Randy Basner was an employee of the California Highway Patrol between 1972 to 2014,
working in the CHP Dispatch Center; and
Whereas, Randy understands the critical rope that dispatchers serve in maintaining public safety; and
Whereas, in 1989 the Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center had a number of vacancies and was at risk of not
keeping up with call volume, which caused Randy to offer the Sheriff his services as an extra help dispatcher,
which was in addition to his full time job with CHP; and
Whereas, for the next 25 years Randy continued to provide service to the Sheriff's Office, filling
vacancies, working 16 hour weekends, and filling in when coverage was needed; and
Whereas, Randy has become the individual with the longest tenure at the Sheriff's Office Dispatch,
despite his full time job at CHP; and
Whereas, after 42 years working dispatch, Randy has decided to retire on May 30, 2014.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors on its own behalf, and on behalf of
the residents of the County of Butte:
That said Board expresses their deep appreciation for the unselfish dedication and devotion to public
safety given by Randy during his career with the California Highway Patrol and Butte County Sheriff's Office.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors this loth Day of June 2014. by the following vote:
