RESOLI.ITION AUTHORIZING THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY TO SIGN, ON BEHALF OF THE
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN WEE THE VICTIM TI P .TION AND
GOVERNMENT CLAIMS BOARD AND THE COUNTYOF BUTTE

WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors has previously entered into anagreement with the Mate of
California Victim. Compensation and Government Claims Board (VCGCB) to allow the District Attorney's
Victim/Witness Program to pay for emergency victim needs, e.g, funeral/burial expense, safety relocation, and
crime scene clean-up using a local revolving fiend, and.
WHEREAS, the VCGCB advances $40,000 annually (pursuant to Government Code; §6504) for emergency
payment to victims and requires the ,District Attorney to exercise appropriate internal records, internal controls
and management of the revolving fund; and
WHEREAS, the current agreement with VCGCB expires on Jame 30, 2014 and renewal of the VCGCB
agreement is needed to continue emergency payment to victims for the period of July 1., 2014 through June 30,
2017; and
NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the District attorney of the County of Butte is authorized by
resolution of the Board of Supervisors to execute the agreement for the period of July 1, 2014 through June 30,
2017 and any amendments or extensions on behalf of the hoard of Supervisors.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte this 29th day of July 2014, by
the following vote:
