Resolution No. 1.4-098
RESOLUTION IN APPRECIATION OF JAIL RERUK
WHEREAS,Jan Beruk, Supervisor,Assessment Office, announced her retirement as of August 2.9, 2014; and
WHEREAS,Jan Beruk began her career with the Butte County Assessor's Office on December 7, 1973 as a Stena
Clerk III, advancing within the department, hollding the positions of Typist Clerk III, Assessment Clerk, Administrative
Services Assistant, Appraisal Technician, Clerical Supervisor, and promoting to Assessment Office Supervisor on
December 18, 1989; and
WHEREAS,Jan Beruk has accomplished much in her tenure in the Assessor's Office, including ushering the
department into the computer age; setting the state standard for Assessors' Office Administration in the 1994 State
Board of Equalization Survey; guiding many a new assessor through the compllex budget process; and overseeing the
creation of the Assessment Clerk, Senior position to enhance promotional opportunities for clerical staff; and
WHEREAS,Jan Beruk has served under seven Butte County Assessors, Dave Vasco, Alvin Anderson, Ed Brown,
Larry Leach, Ted Cleveland, Ken Reimers, and Fred Holland; and
WHEREAS,Jan Beruk is beloved by her co-workers for her unfailing kindness and sage advice based on bong
experience; and
WHEREAS,Jan Beruk is a member of the (Butte County Historical Society and hopes to participate in the future
archiving of historical assessor records and documents; and
WHEREAS,Jan Beruk diligently served the residents of the County of Butte for forty years and eight months with
extraordinary dedication;
NOW,THEREFORE, RE IT RESOLVED,that this Board, on its own behalf, and on behalf of the residents of the
County of Butte wishes to express to Jan Beruk sincere appreciation for her many years of unselfish dedication and
outstanding service rendered to the residents of the County of Butte, and further wishes her well on her retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, this 26thday of
August, 2014 by the following vote:
AYES. Supervisors Connelly, Wahl, Kirk, Lambert and Chair Teeter
