Resolution No. 14-128
RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE BUTTECOUNTY TITLE I -E CHILD WELFARE WAIVER
DEMONSTRATION PROJECT COMMENCI FEDERAL FISCAL YEAR 2015'rHROUGH 2019
WHEREAS,on March 31,2006 the State of California received approval for the California Title W—E Child Welfare
Dernonstr°adon Project from the federal Department.of Health and Hurrnan Services;and
WHEREAS, in September 2014 the State of California received approval to extend the Dernonstration Project for an
additional five years„and.
WHEREAS,the St:aite of California will operate a State Derrnonstrabon Project pursuant to Welfare and lrwstitutions Code,
Section 18200,et.seri.for the County Demonstration emphasizing child and f'annily well-being that will support practice,
programs and system improvements that may result in better outcomes for children,youth and families;and
WHEREAS,the Department of Employment and Social Services,in partnership with the Probation Department,has
submitted a plan to the California Department of SociM Services to participate un the:Title IV-E Child Welfare Waiver
Demonstration Project;and
WHEREAS,the Butte County Board of Supervisors has designated the Department of Employment and Social Services as
the Lead agency responsible for entering into contractual relationships Frith partner organizations and the State for the Title
iV-E Child Welfare Waiver Demonstration Project;and
WHEREAS,the California Department of Social Services requires the Butte County Board of Supervisors to approve the
local Title W-E Chrl Welfare'Waiver Demonstration Project plan through a formal resolution process,
NOW,THEREFORE, i 'IS HEREBY RESOLVED,that the Butte County Board of Supervisors approves the butte County"title
ME Child y" dfare Waiver Demonstration Project commencing!Federal F~seal Year 2015 through 2019.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,by the Butte County Board of Supervisors that the Butte County Administrative Officer,or,
Ns/her designee,is hereby authorized and empowered to apply,approve,sign and execute in the name of the County Of Butte
any documents necessary to receive federal funding through the Title I .E Child Welfare Waiver Demonstration Project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,,that this resolution shall remain in full force and effect Until a resolution by the Butte County
Board of Supervisors is adopted amending or rescinding this resolution.
