AN ,INTERIM ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF THE COUi`7TY
OF BUTTE AN "RT-l" {MINIMUM-DENSITY RESTDENTIAL-
1 ~.PRAILER} DISTRICT
~ The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
3 California under and pursuant to Ordinance No. 475, as amended,
4 and declaring an emergency, DO ORDAIN, as follows:
5 SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situated in
6 the County of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is
7 hereby caned an "RT-l" (Minimum-Density Residential--Trailer)
8 :District for a period of 120 days, and such area shall be sub-
9 jest to the restrictions and restricted uses and regulations
10 hereinafter specified and provided. Said area so zoned being
11 located near Oroville, California, and described as:
12 All of lots 1 through 9 "Kelly Ridge Estates, Unit
lA", per map recorded in Map Book 43, an Pages 23
13 and 24, in the Office of Butte County Recorder.
14 SECTION Z. The following regulations sha11 apply in an
15 "RT-1" (Minimum-Density Residential.-Trailer} District:
18 2.1 USES PERMITTED:
17 a. Single-Family dwellings.
18 b. Mobile Homes to house one family, when such. Mobile
19 home is the only housing facility located on the
~~ premises, provided the fallowing conditions are
21 conformed to:
22 1. The floor area within the Mobile Home shall not
23 be less than 500 square feet.
~ 2. All. sanitary facilities shall conform to the
~ State Statutes and regulations and to loca l
28 requirements of the the health Department; and
~ 3. Ail electrical installations shall conform to
2 State Statutes and regulations.
3' c. Accessory buildings pertinent to the permitted uses.
4 d. Household pets, but not including livestock, poultry
~ or poisonous reptiles.
6 2,2 LOT AREA REQUIRED:
? Minimum lot area of a lot per dwelling unit or a
$ Mobile Home unit shall be no less than eight thousand
9 one hundred and twenty-five {8,125} square feet
~~ excepting where public sewage disposal service is
11 provided, a minimum of six thousand five hundred
12 (6,500} square feet may be allowed for inside lots
13 with a minimum of seven thousand, five hundred
14 (7,500} square feet for corner lots,
15 2.3 LOT WIDTH REQUIRED:
16 Minimum lot width shall not be less than sixty-five
~7 (65) feet.
18 2.4 FRONT YARD REQUIRED:
19 Minimum front yard shall be fifty (50} feet from the
2U centerline of the road, except where the road is
21 classified by the County as a Federal Aid Secondary
22 Road the minimum building setback requirement shall
23 be fifty--five (55} feet from the centerline of the

road.

Minimum side yard shall not be less than five (5) fee

~ 2.6 THE FOLLOWING USES SUBJECT TO SECURING A USE PERMIT
2 TN EACH CASE:
~ a. Golf courses anal country clubs.
4 b. Public and quasi-gublic uses including churches,
.firehouses, hospitals, parks and playgrounds, schools,
6 and public utility buildings.
7 SECTION 3. All uses of land within the Distract not
~ specifically authorized and permitted in Section 2, are prohibited
9 SECTION 4. Tn compliance with the provisions of said
].0 Zoning Enabling Ordinance, the same is hereby amended by adding
~Z this Ordinance in full.
12 SECTION 5. The penalties for the violation of the zoning
1~ .hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided in the
14 Zoning Enabling Ordinance. Tn compliance with the provisions of
15 -the Zoning Enabling Ordinance, this Ordinance shall from and
1B after its effective date become a supplement to and part of the
17 Zoning Enabling Ordinance.
1$ SECTION 6. This urgency ordinance shall take effect
Z9 immediately upon its passage, and before the expiration of fif -
20 teen (15) days after its passage shall be published once with the
22 names of all members of the Board of Supervisors voting for and
22 against the same in the Orovxlle Mercury , a newspaper

in general circulation in the County of Butte, State of Califor-

nia. The facts constituting the urgency on which this Ordinance

1. A petition for permanent rezoning will soon be

considered by the Planning Commission.
2. Tn order to preserve and maintain the area until
such time as the permanent zoning for the area is
heard .
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California, on the 20th day of
November, 1973, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Cameron, Gilman, Ladd, Madigan. and Chairman McKi.llog
