RESOLUTION SUPPORTING CITY OF VlILLE'S APPLICATION TO THE BUTTE LOCAL AGENCY
FORMATION COMMISSION REQUESTING PROCEEDINGS F R THE ANNEXATION OF PROPERTY
NOW LOCATED IN THE IC PRR TED TERRITORY OF THE COUNTY F BUTTE TO THE
I C P R TED TERRITORY OF THE CITY OF R VILLE* SOUTH OROVILL,E "ARE "
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 56375(a) requires the approval of the Local
Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo)for the annexation of properties within the County's
jurisdiction into the City's boundaries; and
WHEREAS, on October 7', 2814, the Oroville City Council) adapted a resolution of intent
directing staff to bring back a resolution of authorization for the initiation of application by the
City of Oroville requesting the Butte LAFCo to take proceedings for the annexation of South
Curovillle "Area-A" (Exhibit A-l)"° and
WHEREAS, the Oroville City Council intends to consider a resolution on October 2.1,
2814 directing staff to submit an application and all other relevant documents to the Butte
Local Agency Formation Commission to take proceedings for the annexation of South Oroville
"Area-A"; and
WHEREAS, the County of Butte supports the adoption of a resolution by the Oroville
City Council on October 21, 2014 authorizing the initiation of application by the City of Oroville
requesting the Butte LAFCo to take proceedings for the annexation of South Oroville "Area-A";
and
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the County of Butte to pay the Butte LAFCo processing
fees associated with the City of Orovilles appllication requesting,the Butte LAFCo to take
proceedings for the annexation of South Oroville "Area-A'
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors as follows.
1. The County of Butte supports the adoption of a resolution by the Oroville City
Council on October 21, 2014 authorizing the initiation of application by the City of
Olroville requesting the Butte LAFCo to take proceedings for the annexation of
South Oroville "Area-A" ('Exhibit A-1) and
2. That the Butte County Chief Administrative Officer is hereby authorized to pay an
amount not to exceed $20,000 for the Butte LAFCo processing fees associated with
the City of Oroville's application requesting the Butte LAFCo to take proceedings
for the annexation of South Oroville "Area-A".
PASSED AND ADOPTEDby the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 211 day of October,
2014 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Wahl, Kirk, Lambert and Chair Teeter
NOES: None
ABSENT: N ne _
NOT VOTING: None
